Mahatma Gandhi College

Mahatma Gandhi College was established in 1980 with a simple and visionary vision. The college is named after Veer Kunwar Singh. The area around Bhojpur lacked a good educational option; the primary reason for opening the college was to provide a good education to everyone. At that time, to get education, most of the people had to go to college. Those who were financially strong went to study outside but those who were financially weak neither had the means nor the money to go to college and study and get a good education.
The main objective of opening colleges was that everyone should get good education easily. In the beginning Mahatma Gandhi College had to Struggle with many problems like lack of resources, but with the cooperation and hard work of the founders, teachers and local people the college kept on progressing. Over the years many students of Mahatma Gandhi College have graduated and become good citizens with good education and discipline. Today this college has become another symbol of progress of education in the entire region. Bhojpur district is home to a significant education system, as most people live in rural or semi-urban areas. Education helps people move forward and improve their lives.
